Export to B'desh halts at Changrabanda post
Coochbehar, Nov 15: There is no taker of Indian goods due to current explosive political situation in Dhaka, exporters here said today.
They said export to Bangladesh from Changrabanda border post of North Bengal here suffered heavily for the past four days due to current political situation in that country.
About 150 trucks laden with fruits, mineral, dolomite, stones and other edible goods go to Bangladesh daily from Changrabanda post.
However, for the past four days the export was totally collapsed rendering a loss of Rs 1.5 lakh per day, according to Changrabanda Export Association secretary Bharat Prasad Gupta.
He said some 350 trucks with perishable goods stranded at the border post since few days.
