Disabled persons demands reservation in promotion through PIL in HC
Mumbai, Nov 15 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today deferred a public interest litigation filed by Maharashtra Rajya Aang Karmachari group seeking reservation for promotion in government department as per the Persons With Disability (PWD) Act.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice H S Bedi and Justice V M Kanade were told that as per the PWD Act, there are three per cent reservation allowed for promotion among the Class III and IV employees categorised in Group C and D. The petitioners sought such reservation for promotions even in Class I and II employees falling in the categories classified as Groups A and B.
The case will come up for further hearing on December six.
