Dalit association protests in Solapur

Solapur, Nov 15 (UNI) Members of the Dalit Association today staged a 'Rasta Roko' and pelted stones on three buses and two shops in the city protesting the killing of four members of a Dalit family at Khairlanji village in Bhandara district on September 30.

Police said that the dalit protestors staged a 'Rasta Roko' this afternoon following which mob began to pelt stones on buses and shops.

Some shops were shut down after the incident and nobody was hurt, police said.

However, the situation is under control, police added.

A similar protest was witnessed yesterday in Amaravati in which at least one person was injured when police opened fire to disperse a violent mob.
