Dacoit killed in police encounter

Bhopal, Nov 15 (UNI) A dacoit, who carried a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head, was killed in a police encounter this morning at Mohdia Hatyarin village near forest in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh.

According to state police control room, on a tip-off about the presence of the dacoit in the forest, police reached the area and challenged the dacoits to surrender.

However, the other side opened fire and dacoit Halke Kachhi was killed in retaliation. However, other dacoits, including dacoit Dhirendra Singh, managed to flee.

A 12-bore gun, five cartridges and 330 empty cases were seized.

Kachhi was wanted in connection with 19 cases for crimes in Bijawar and Bada Malehra areas.
