Court allows withdrawal of case against Minister
Patna, Nov 15 (UNI) A local court today granted permission to a complainant to withdraw the case pending against Bihar Energy Minister Bijendra Yadav.
Additional district and sessions judge of Patna Ram Pravesh Sharma passed the order after hearing a revisision petition filed by Mr Yadav.
In his petition, Mr Yadav informed the court that a compromise had been reached with the complainant, who had also informed the court about his willingness to withdraw the case against Mr Yadav, while Additional Advocate General did not object to the withdrawal of the same.
The case was filed by complainant Lalan Prasad Sinha, Superintending Engineer of Bihar state Hydro-electric Corporation against Mr Yadav in 1992.
According to the charges, Mr Yadav had threatened Mr Sinha to withdraw a case filed by him in Patna High Court. Mr Yadav was declared absconder in the case in 200O following his non-appearance before the court despite several summons and warrants.
