Contraband drugs worth Rs 50 crore seized

Kolkata, Nov 15 (UNI) In one of the biggest hauls in recent times, Narcotic Control Bureau sleuths seized contraband drugs worth Rs 50 crores from the Kolkata port here late last night.

The seizure was made from two containers, which arrived from China a few days ago, official sources today said.

Altogether nine people, employed with a freight carrier company, had been detained for questioning.

The sources said the seizure was made during a night-long raid in container godowns following a tip-off.

Details of the incident are still awaited.
