Cong, BJP candidates file nominations for LS by-polls

Hyderabad, Nov 15 (UNI) Congress and BJP candidates today filed nominations for the Lok Sabha by-election for the Karimnagar constituency, while a Congress candidate filed her nomination for the Bobbili Constituency.

Congress candidate and MLA T Jeevan Reddy today went in a big procession and filed his nomination in Karimnagar, where a by-election was necessitated by the resignation of Telangana Rashtra Samiti Chief and former Union Labour Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao.

The Bobbili by-poll was necessitated due to the death of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP K Paidithalli Naidu.

BJP candidate and former Union Minister Ch Vidya Sagara Rao also filed his nomination in Karimnagar today. He also went in a big procession to file his nomination.

Mr Chandrasekhara Rao who termed the by-poll as a referendum on the formation of Telangana state is contesting from Karimnagar.

In Bobbili, Botsa Jhansi, ZP Chairperson and wife of Marketing Minister Botsa Satyanarayana also filed her nomination amid fanfare.

The TDP had chosen the late MPs son Appala Naidu as its candidate from Bobbili Lok Sabha constituency. Mr Paidithalli Naidu represented the Bobbili Lok Sabha constituency thrice.
