Chamundeshwari bypoll: Two candidates file nominations

Mysore, Nov 15 (UNI) Samajawadi Party candidate B Karunakar and an independent candidate filed their nominations for the Chamundeswari Assembly byelection, scheduled for December four, here today.

With Mr Karunakar and independent candidate Kari Gowda filing their papers before the Returning Officer here, the total number of nominations filed had risen to three.

The last date for filing of nominations was November 17.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer S Selva Kumar, in a release here, asked printing press owners to obtain prior permission for printing books or handbills of candidates.

In a separate release here, Superintendent of Police S Murugan directed those having licensed fire arms to hand it over to the police station concerned in view of the bypoll. The order would be in force till December ten.
