Centre and state government to work for Bihar's development
Patna, Nov 15 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the the Centre and state government would work in tandem for allround development of the state.
After laying the foundation stone of a bridge in Khagaria district, Mr Kumar said politics was not only about struggle for power, but it had the broader goal of ensuring homogenous development of the society. Despite different politicial parties being in power at the Centre and in state, both the governments should work for accelerating the pace of development in Bihar, he added.
'' With fertile lands and talented people, there was no reason why Bihar could not attain allround prosperity,'' he observed.
The Chief Minister announced installation of a power sub- station and construction of metalled road between Mansi and Khagaria besides opening a government high school in Khagaria district.
Addressing the function, Union Steel and Fertiliser minister Ram Vilas Paswan said Mr Kumar had fulfilled the long pending demands of the area while the earlier government was only engaged in making announcements for development of Khagaria.
Mr Paswan announced reopening of fertiliser units at Barauni, Gorakhpur, Durgapur and Haldia soon which were lying closed since long.
Bihar road construction minister Nand Kishore Yadav and Lok Janshakti Party MP Ramchandra Paswan also addressed the function.
