Boy kidnapped in Darrang district of Asom

Mangaldai, Nov 15 (UNI) A 14-year-old boy was kidnapped from Bholabari tea estate in the Darrang district of Asom today.

Police said Mrinmoy Kashyap Sharma, a class 7 student of Kolaigaon high school, was kidnapped by two unidentified motorcycle borne youths from near the tea estate.

The boy was returning home from school on his bicycle when the incident took place, eye witnesses said.

The boy's father, who is a bank assistant, suspected ransom as the cause behind the kidnapping, though no demand has been received so far.

An FIR had been registered at the Kolaigaon police station and investigation was on, police said.
