Bomb by suspected ULFA damage OIL pipe line
Guwahati, Nov 15: Suspected cadres of the United Liberation Front of Asom(ULFA) exploded a bomb at Dichangpani near Sonari in Sibsagar district damaging a crude oil pipe line of the Oil India Limited (OIL) last night.
The crude oil caught fire immediately after the explosion but the authority managed to control the blaze before it caused more damages.
Police said there was no casualty or injury to anybody. The explosion occurred around 2315 hours, they said.
The police also recovered about 7 kg of RDX from a spot under Sonari police station area of the district yesterday. The explosive was concealed in a pressure cooker and planted on a road at Sarupathar near Sapekhati in the district.
