Blind protest Mumbai lathicarge
New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) A group of visually challenged persons today held demonstrations at Maharashtra Sadan on Copernicus Marg in New Delhi area to protest the lathicharge by Mumbai police on the procession of blind people.
The demonstration held under the aegis of the National Federation of the Blind also submitted a memorandum to the Resident Commissioner here, over the lathicharge on the blind at Azad Maidan by the police yesterday.
The procession in Mumbai was against the government order to for the disabled.
Meanwhile, the Disabled Rights Group also held a 'dharna' outside Shastri Bhawan to protest the gross injustice of the government towards the disabled by not making any statuary provision for reservations for them in the private sector.
