Bjp does Gandhigiri to decry Lalu gracing Jharkhand day

Ranchi, Nov 15 (UNI) The BJP today adopted Gandhigiri to protest against inviting Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, a staunch critic against formation of Jharkhand, as the chief guest for sixth foundation day of the state.

Some 101 party activists clad in white kurta and pajama gathered at Albert Ekka Chowk and paid a floral tribute to a portrait of the railway minister invoking god to endow the RJD supremo with wisdom.

The saffron brigade organised this unique protest against the UPA backed Madhu Koda government's decision to accord Mr Prasad as the chief guest of the statehood day programme saying the leader had oppsoed tooth and nail for formation of Jharkhand state.

The BJP felt that Mr Prasad, who had said that if Jharkhand was created then it would be done over his body, was not fit to grace the function in Ranchi.

The UPA's decision to invite Mr Prasad on such an occasion tantamounted to the insult of Jharkhand, the BJP opined.

The protestors led by Ranchi mahanagar president Sanjay Seth and local MLA CP Sinha during two-and-half hours demonstration did not raise any slogan.
