Airtel launches 'Voice SMS' in Tamil Nadu
Chennai, Nov 15 (UNI) Continuing its committment to constantly delight its customers, Bharti Airtel, India's leading mobile services provider, today launched ''Voice SMS'' in Tamil Nadu.
'Voice SMS' is a personalised message service that enables users to send a message in their own voice and in the language of their choice.
This innovative service offers customers the choice to laugh, sing, cheer and express themselves through a SMS, a company release here said.
To send a message, the Airtel mobile user should dial * followed by the recipient's number (10 digit mobile number), and leave a message with a maximum duration of 30 seconds.
The recipient of this voice SMS will get a SMS notification - and they can dial in the number mentioned in the message to hear the message.
The service is nominally charged at 75 paise/message for sending a Voice SMS. Airtel customers on receiving a Voice SMS can hear it free of cost for the first time. The Voice SMS can be stored in the archives too.
To retrieve the Voice SMS from the archive the Airtel customer can press *0* for which he will be charged Rs. 0.75 / min.
When the message is sent to a non-Airtel number the non-Airtel user can retrieve the Voice SMS by dialing a 10 digit number that he receives on his mobile, it will be an outgoing call for him and he will be charged as per his rate plan.
