50 per cent seats for state's youth in PVT Universities: CM
Shimla, Nov 15 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today promised 50 per cent seats for the state's youth in private universities and vocational training institutions that were being encouraged to open centres in the state.
Addressing a public meeting at Padhar in Mandi district, he said the private universities were being invited to open centres in the state to make Himachal an educational hub.
Mr Singh said a sum of Rs 31.29 crore was being spent on 24 road projects in Drang Assembly Segment of the district to increase road connectivity.
Efforts were also on to get Nargu Wild Life Sanctuary denotified since the matter has been raised with the concerned authorities, he said.
He said 13,000 daily wagers were being regularized in PWD and IPH separtments alone and the process was still continuing.
The state government has provided a sum of Rs. 2,000 crore to the PWD for constructing new roads and widening, mettling and tarring the existing road network in the next two years, he said.
He said Shimla Water Scheme was being augmented at a cost of Rs 54 crore, Nahan and Solan town and suburban areas with Rs 60 crore Scheme, adding that Rs. 67.46 crore scheme was being introduced in Bamsan Lagawalti in Hamirpur, which would ensure adequate water supply to the surrounding areas.
