UP to showcase its industrial potential in ITTF in a big way

Lucknow, Nov 14 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government which claims to be the first state to formulate a clearly defined SEZ policy after the SEZ Act was passed, is participating in the fortnight-long India International Trade Fair (IITF) commencing today in New Delhi with focus on small and medium-size enterprises and tourism.

Besides, the achievements of the UP government and Uttar Pradesh Development Council along with infrastructural and industrial development taking place in the state, will be the main themes of the IITF this year.

''We would showcase our industrial, infrastructural, economic and trade growth as well as investment and export potential in a big way,'' an official spokesman of the state government said.

The entire country should know that, UP was the first state to formulate a clearly defined SEZ policy after the SEZ Act was passed, resulting in SEZ revolution both in sector specific and multi-product categories, the spokesman said.

With a well formulated Information Technology Policy and STP parks, state has also taken lead to introduce web enabled 'single table system' which facilitates continuous monitoring of the status of various proposals and projects submitted for approval by entrepreneurs and investors.

UP government has recently chalked out an easy-to-implement PPP model, so that public private partnership takes off rapidly in a hassle-free manner which is the need of a huge state.

Information regarding all this and various industry and development related policies to promote the trade, tourism, economy, export, to generate employment and uplift the living standard of the people will be on display at the Udyog Bandhu ('friends of industry') stall under the Uttar Pradesh pavillion.

It is expected to open new avenues of investment and participation by foreign governments, business houses and private sector in the promotion of economy and industry as about 7,500 companies from India and abroad are taking part in the exhibition-cum-fair.

Over 200 overseas delegates from countries like Russia, Japan, Britain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are participating and it is estimated to be visited by over 2.5 million people.
