Unclaimed cardboard box creates alarm

Chennai, Nov 14: An unclaimed cardboard box created a flutter among security personnel as well air passengers at the Kamaraj Domestic Airport here today.

Airport sources said the box lay unclaimed at the arrival area for hours together. Staff who were on duty noticed it and made repeated calls on the public address system asking if anyone owned the box.

As no one came forward to claim it, the police were called.

Police and the bomb detection squad rushed to the spot and removed the box to the cold storage room for observation, they said, adding, only then did security staff and others heave a sigh of relief.
