Two remanded in corruption case
Patna, Nov 14 (UNI) A special court here today remanded two people including an executive electrical engineer in two seperate cases of corruption.
The accused engineer R.K.Yadav surrendered before the special judge Radhey shyam Prasad and prayed for his judicial custody in the case which was accepted by the court. The case was related to irregularities committed in payment of the compensation to the farmers for their acquired land during the construction of Fatuha-Khgaul transmission line.
Meanwhile, the designated judge remanded M P Sharma, a contractor of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), to judicial custody in another corruption case.
According to the charges, about Rs 16 lakhs were fraudulantely withdrawn from the office of Principal General Manager Telephones(PGMT), BSNL Patna in between 2002-03. CBI had already submitted chargesheet in the case against several officials and contractors of BSNL Patna.
