Two incidents of robbery

Mumbai, Nov 14 (UNI) The police have registered two cases of robbery during the past 24 hours in the metropolis.

Police today said in one incident, Meenu Nadar Engineer Parsi (66) who was living alone at his Jahangir Mansion flat on First Marine street in South Mumbai, was allegedly robbed by an unidentified armed man who entered his house yesterday noon and allegedly threatened him at knife point. The robber fled with Rs 4,000 cash and few credit cards.

In another incident, a goldsmith, Narayansingh Ramsingh (38), was allegedly looted by unidentified persons of cash and jewellery worth Rs 1.95 lakh near Everest Nagar in the eastern suburb of Ghatkopar yesterday.

Ramsingh, accompanied by his two friends Ashok Shah (38) and Sunil Bansilal (29), was travelling to Zaveri Bazaar in South Mumbai in taxi, when a car trailed the taxi and intercepted it near Everest Nagar at Ghatkopar. The persons inside the car allegedly fired three rounds at them and fled with a bag containing jewellery, two mobile phones and cheques aggregating Rs 1.95 lakh.

Ramsingh and his friends were injured in the incident, and they were admitted to a private hospital in suburban Bandra, police said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigations are on.
