Textile workers held

Puducherry, Nov 14 (UNI) As many as 122 volunteers of the Puducherry textile mill workers, including a woman were arrested when they took out a procession to picket the legislative assembly to press their demands.

They were demanding, among other things, the immediate modernisation of the textile mills here and appointment of the wards of the textile workers who had obtained traning in the mills.

The employees were stopped near the Immaculate Conception cathedral and arrested.
