Suneil Shetty's cheque bounce case adjourned
Chandigarh, Nov 14 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today adjourned till January 23 the hearing on a writ petition filed by film star Suneil Shetty seeking directions to quash the proceedings initiated against him in a cheque bounce case.
One Subhash Gulati had deposited Rs 10 lakh towards initial amount for securing the distributorship of Hyundai mobile handsets to be manufactured by Chennai-based Hyundai India Telecom limited, of which Shetty was claimed to be a director.
As the company never made the handsets available as per the deal, the Empire Stores had sued the company and its directors when the cheque for Rs 10 lakh which had been issued by the company in lieu of the deposit made by Gulati, was returned by the bank for insufficiency of funds.
However, the film star had denied that he was a director of the company in question.
