SP misusing public money: CPI

Lucknow, Nov 14 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) today slammed the Samajwadi Party led Uttar Pradesh government for ''misusing''public money on the distribution of Kanya Vidhya Dhan and unemployment allowance.

CPI's state unit Joint Secretary Dr Girish here said the KVD and unemployment allowance can be distributed without using the government machinery but Chief Minister Mulayam Singh is unnecessarily organising grand events for the distribution of cheques and misusing the government exchequer.

He alleged ''there is neither any provision for such expenses in the budget nor the approval of the state legislature before the distribution of such cheques.'' He added that the Jan Morcha alliance would soon meet Governor T V Rajeshvar to discuss the issuue.
