Silver and gold decline on thin buying support

Mumbai, Nov 14 (UNI) Spot Silver and Gold declined on thin buying support with Silver down by Rs 100 and gold slid by Rs 25 at close on the Bombay Bullion Market today.

Spot Silver .999 fineness variety opened low at Rs 19,305 per kg on thin buying support. Later, it closed slightly higher at Rs 19,330 per kg, with a loss of Rs 100 from yesterday's close.

In London, the white metal was quoted high at USD 12.80/12.85 per troy ounce against USD 12.75/12.80 per troy ounce in New York.

Similarly, standard Gold (99.5) and pure Gold (99.9) opened weak at Rs 9,140 and Rs 9,190 per ten gram respectively.

However, the yellow metal closed still higher at Rs 9,150 and Rs 9,200 per ten gm respectively, with a loss of Rs 25 each from its last close.

In London, the yellow metal went up at USD 623.70/624.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 620/623 per troy ounce at New York on Monday.

Following are the spot silver and gold closing prices: Silver (per kg) .999 grade : Rs 19,330 (19,430) Gold (per 10 gm): Standard mint 99.5 purity : Rs 9,150 (9,175) Pure Gold 99.9 purity : Rs 9,200 (9,225).
