School fire case hearing postponed to November 20
Kumbhakonam, Nov 14 (UNI) As seven of the accused in the Kumbakonam school fire tragedy did not appear before the Judicial Magistrate Court today when the case came up for hearing, the Magistrate asked them to appear for the next hearing on November 20, 2006.
The case relates to the tragedy in the Krishna Primary Aided School at Kumbhakonam on July 16, 2004, when 94 children died and another 20 suffered burns.
Police arrested 24 persons including Pulavur Palanisamy, founder of the school and others including the Chief Educational Officer, Tahsildar, Engineer and other persons who worked in the school.
