Quake of mild intensity rock Nanded

Nanded, Nov 14 (UNI) Several localities of Nanded city experienced tremors of mild intensity late last night and people came out of their houses in panic, district officials said today.

Several residents of Bhagyanagar, Srinagar, Ganeshnagar and Shivajinagar localities came out of their houses after experiencing the tremors.

The police control room was flooded with calls from the residents of these localities at about 2315 hrs last night.

Meanwhile, district authorities held meetings with the geological experts in connection with the mild quake. ''We have held meetings with the experts including Vice Chancellor of Swami Ramanand Tirth University Dr Dhananjay Yedekar in connection with last night's earth shocks and the seismic graph is awaited from the Seismological Centre from Latur,'' District Collector Radheshyam Mopalwar told UNI.

''It is a fact that many residents in the city have experienced shocks followed by a big noise, the details would be known only after the receipt of the report from the Seismological Department,'' Mr Mopalwar said.
