Peerless Hotels plans expansion

Kolkata, Nov 14 (UNI) Peerless Hotels and Resorts, the subsidiary of Peerless General Finance Ltd, is planning to take its "Aaheli" brand of traditional Bengali restaurants to major cities in India.

The company is planning to set up the hotels in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai in the first phase, Mr Tarun Maity, regional director, Sarovar Hotels Pvt Ltd, which manages Peerless Hotels, said.

"We are in talks with malls and multiplexes for setting up the restaurants," he said.

The hotel group is planning to set up more four star business hotels in the eastern part of the country.

The hotels were planned in Siliguri, Asansol, Santiniketan and Dibrugarh, Mr Maity said.

Peerless Hotels presently has hotels in Kolkata, Durgapur, Port Blair and Mukutmanipur.

The company has earmarked Rs 200 crore for the expansions, he said.

Mr Maity was speaking on the occasion of launch of a cake mixing ceremony in Peerless Inn, Kolkata.
