NDA govt flouting reservation rules : RJD
Patna, Nov 14 (UNI) RJD today accused the Nitish Kumar government of flouting the provisions of Bihar Reservation Act(BRA) regarding reservation for backward classes, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes in state government services.
Talking to reporters here, RJD national general secretary and former Bihar minister Shyam Rajak alleged that only 18.39 per cent of the posts of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) were secured by candidates of reserved categories while 81.60 per cent posts went to general categories, for which the result was published by Bihar Public Service Commission(BPSC) recently.
He alleged that the state government was not following the rules of BRA which was a cognizable offence and said stringent action should be taken against officers responsible for violation of reservation provisions in appointment of CDPOs.
'' Interests of backward classes and oppressed section of the society were being constantly ignored since the NDA came to power in the state'' he added.
'' The NDA government was only shedding crocodile tears for the underprivileged section of the society, while their condition continued to deteriorate during the last one year of its regime,'' he observed.
