Navy honours five for helping crew of Islander aircraft
Kochi, Nov 14 (UNI) The Southern Naval Command today rewarded five local residents of Erumpayam, Kottayam, for providing valuable assistance to the crew of the naval Islander aircraft that had force-landed in the marshy fields at Vellore last week.
Radm Rajender Singh, Chief of Staff, presented to them a letter of the Navy's appreciation alongwith a cash award for their spontaneous act, disregarding their personal safety.
The five people felicitated at the reception at the Headquarters of the Southern Command here were Sasi Kuttan, Anu T T, Jinu Raj, Stalin and Shinoj Mathew, an official release said here.
