Mumbai takes first innings lead against Punjab
Jamshedpur, Nov 14 (UNI) Mumbai scored 279 for six in their first innings in reply to Punjab's 200 all out on the penultimate day of the three-day Cooch Behar Trohpy (Under-19) elite group A match at the Keenan stadium here today.
Mumbai mangaged to take a vital 79 runs lead. Thanks to a fine 97 by Ajinkya Rahane and an unbeaten 73 by Anup Revendkar. Rahane, who was unfortunate to miss the ton by three runs, hit eleven fours before being the victim of Karanveer Singh.
Anup hit nine boundaries in his unbeaten knock. Sushant Khaire remained not out on 13 at the other end.
Sumit Kalia and Karanveer Singh scalped three wickets each conceding 48 and 63 runs respectively.
Earlier, Punjab resuming at overnight 192 for seven, were all out for 200. T Kohli added only two runs to his overnight score to get out for 42.
Dhaval Kulkarni returned with a five wicket haul sparing 68 runs while Iqbal Abdullah took three for 40.
