MP Govt to increase relief amount during natural calamities
Bhopal, Nov 14 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today announced amendments in the Revenue Book Circular and increase the amount provided for relief during natural calamities.
A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took the decision regarding increasing the relief amount provided during crop loss besides raising the grant and loan approving limits of officials during natural calamities.
Under the decision, the Sub-Divisional Officer can grant up to Rs 20,000 against Rs 10,000 and the tahsildar can grant up to Rs 10,000 instead of Rs 5,000 earlier.
Likewise, the Divisional Commissioner can approve loans of more than Rs one lakh, while the District Collector can sanction loans of up to Rs one lakh.
During 25-50 per cent crop loss in an area of two hectare, account holders will get Rs 2,000 on loss of rain-dependent crop, Rs 3,500 for damage to irrigated crop, Rs 5,000 for crops of less than six months and Rs 7,500 for crops of more than six months.
Besides, relief amount in event of loss to fruit-laden trees has been increased.
As per new rules, maximum relief amount for crop loss is Rs 30,000.
