Madhya Pradesh, a focus state in Trade Fair

New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh is among the most favoured destinations for tourism and offers a fascinating medley of experiences ranging from heritage sites of religious and historical importance to Wild Life sanctuaries and eco-tourism.

This was stated by Madhya Pradesh Minister for Commerce and Industry Babu Lal Gaur while speaking as a guest of honour at the inaugural function of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan here today. The fair was inaugurated by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

Mr Gaur said Madhya Pradesh pavillion mirrored the progress achieved by the state in diverse sectors of the economy and would undoubtedly promote a better assessment of the opportunities offered by the state for industry and investments.

Mr Gaur said this year's IITF had great significance for Madhya Pradesh as it is participating as the focus state. The selection of tourism and small and medium enterprises as the theme of IITF, 6 was in conformity with the strength and extra ordinary achievements of the state in these areas.

The small and medium industries sector is a priority sector for Madhya Pradesh and the state offered diverse products of the small and cottage industries like Chanderi sarees, pottery, kota silk, woodwork and metal work, he said.
