J'khand to mark the 6th foundation day on Nov 15

Ranchi, Nov 14: Jharkhand will begin celebrating its sixth foundation day from tomorrow through a week-long programme that includes holding of a mega industrial fair besides felicitating a host of personalities of the state.

Top industrial houses and banks are expected to participate in the fair.

Elaborate security measures have been taken to ensure smooth functioning of tomorrow's inaugural session which will be presided over by Chief Minister Madhu Koda with Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav gracing as the chief guest.

Other prominent dignitaries scheduled to participate include Coal Minister Sibu Soren, Union Minister of State for Food Processing Subodh Kant Sahai, Ms Noor Banu (Cong), in-charge of Jharkhand, and former Maharashtra Home Minister Kripa Sankar Singh.

'Run For Jharkhand' with the motto of creating awareness for development will be held that will start from four main points of the city.

The government will felicitate 11 people from the seven districts who had made significant contribution towards making of the state.

Besides, 29 police officers will be rewarded on the occasion. Of them seven will be given medals for commendable services and the rest will receive Chief Minister's police medal.

The celebration will not be confined to the capital alone as all district headquarters have been instructed to mark the occasion.

Special arrangements have been made to bring prominent leaders from other states.

The chief minister is personally monitoring the preparation at the venue, the historical Morhabadi ground. He claimed that the industrial fair would be at par with international fairs held in other metropolises in the country.
