Government warns of blacklisting defaulter agencies
Saharsa, Nov 14 (UNI) The Bihar government is contemplating to blacklist central agencies engaged in road construction under Pradhanmanti Road Construction Projects if they failed to achieve the target within the stipulatd period.
Bihar Panchayati Raj and Rural Engineering Organisation Minister Narendra Narayan Yadav gave the warning while talking to newspersons here. He said the government had recommended blacklisting some of the agencies which had been proved to be a big failure. He, however, refused to divulge the names of the central agencies.
The minister also said the construction work would be taken up in all districts from November 20 and Rs 300 crore would be spent in the current financial year. He said projects worth Rs 900 crore had been sanctioned for construction of the roads under the scheme which would be done in different phases.
He said Rs 16 crores would be spent on construction of pucca roads to connect small tolas and villages with a population of 500 to 900.
