Foundation laid for country's first Yoga university
Hardwar, Nov 14 (UNI) Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari today laid the foundation stone of the first Yoga university of the country, Patanjali University at Bahadrapad, 20 km from Hardwar on the Delhi-Hardwar national highway.
According to the gazette notification of the state government, the yoga guru Swami Ramdev will be the lifelong chancellor of the university.
The university, which is being set up on 250 acres of land with an estimated cost of Rs 250 crores, will run diploma and degree courses for 5,000 students and conduct research on yoga and ayurveda and run clinical trials within the framework of modern medical sciences.
