Drop in mercury continues, maximum drops to 29.3 degree C
New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Continuing the trend of fall in mercury over the last few days, the maximum temperature in Delhi today dropped to 29.3 degree Celsius even as slightly misty conditions persisted in the capital.
The maximum temperature of 29.3 degree C was normal for this time of the year. The minimum also dropped to 15 degree C.
With a fresh Western disturbance likely to cause rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and showers in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab from Thursday, the coming days could witness a further drop in mercury.
Weathermen said though weather in the Northwest Region would remain dry in the next 24 hours, scattered rain or snow was likely to commence over Jammu&Kashmir from November 16 which may extend subsequently into Himachal Pradesh.
''Isolated rain/thundershowers are also likely over Punjab from November 16 onwards,''they said.
For Delhi, the weather office has forecast a mainly clear sky during the next 24 hours though the mist in the sky was likely to persist.
In fact, weathermen have forecast a drop in minimum temperature to 14 degree C tomorrow.
The constant decrease in mercury over last couple of days indicates a movement in Delhi towards the cool climes.
