Congress refutes TDP's charge
Hyderabad, Nov 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee today refuted the opposition Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) charge that the state government was misusing the official machinery for the coming bypolls to the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan here today, APCC official spokesperson N Tulasi Reddy and Party Kisan Cell Chairman M Kodanda Reddy said the party did not misuse official power and the people had faith in the Congress.
The development and welfare schemes initiated by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was a 'trump card' that would ensure the party's victory in the elections, they said, adding that the TDP leaders were making baseless allegations against the government and the party fearing defeat in the bypolls.
Mr Kodanda Reddy brushed aside the statement of Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrasekhara Rao that Chief Minister was creating obstacles for carving out a separate statehood for Telangana.
Mr G Muddu Krishnamma Naidu, MLA, addressing the press at the Congress Legislature Party office, alleged that TDP leaders were 'experts' in distributing money and liquor during elections and they had only introduced money distributing culture in the state.
