Chennai Corp's mega medical camp for Limca Book
Chennai, Nov 14 (UNI) The mega medical camp conducted by Chennai Corporation on Sunday, when 61,000 people were screened, has been recommended for inclusion in the Limca Book of Records.
Corporation sources said the certification letter for the record was expected by January next. The authorities, who had come to know about the large number of people screened at the one-day medical camp, were now checking the procedures of the camp.
During the camp, about 61,000 people, including 13,000 children were screened and 12,000 cases of viral diseases were detected.
Another 14,000 cases had respiratory ailments.
The medical camp was organised at a cost of Rs one crore in all 155 divisions of the city using 5200 paramedical staff and 500 doctors, the sources added.
