CDC Software to acquire Indian company, expand aggressively
Bangalore, Nov 14 (UNI) Sitting pretty with a cash reserve of USD200 Million and a convertable debt equity of USD 168 million, CDC Software is planning to acquire a few companies over the next six months besides expanding its operations.
CDC Software, which is currently having its Research and Development Centre in Bangalore with 200 engineers, planned to take the total to over 300 in the City and 700 overall in the country over the next 12 to 18 months, CDC Software President Eric Musser told newsmen here today.
It is also proposed to acquire a company in the country in the business service outsourcing area, he said adding that the China based CDC Corporation was also looking at a couple of companies in the US and one in Europe for acquisition.
The Bangalore expansion would be through its group subsidiary Pivotal Bangalore Software Development Private Limited, he added.
CDC was also expanding its direct sales operations in the Bangalore facility.
The CDC Indian arm was in operation for over three years and had played a major role in the development of Pivotal CRM 5.9, an award winning customer relationship management solution. The expanded Centre would also develop other products such as Ross Enterprise and would host its Horizon business service operations. The Bangalore Centre had enabled CDC to tap excellent pool of local professional and engineering talent which would further strengthen the overall global R and D services operations.
