BJP demands cut in petrol and diesel prices
New Delhi, Nov 14: The BJP today demanded that the Government reduce the prices of petrol and diesel immediately keeping parity with the prices of the fuel in the international market.
The prices of the fuel had come down in the international market but the UPA government which had increased the prices seven times in the past two years, was not bothered to announce any reduction the petrol and diesel prices, BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
He said the UPA increased the prices of petrol by 17.24 per litre and that of diesel by 11.96 per litre ever since it came to power.
''When NDA demitted office the price of petrol was Rs 30.25 in New Delhi as compared to Rs 47.49 now,'' he added.
