Bailable warrant issued against UP minister
Lalitpur, Nov 14 (UNI) A local court has issued a bailable warrant against Uttar Pradesh Unani and Ayurvedic Medical Education minister (Independent Charge) Virendra Singh Bundela in an abduction and murder attempt case.
According to public prosecutor Suresh Khare, on April 10, 1989, Virendra Singh Bundela and his eight aides had abducted Pradeep Kumar Tripathi over a tender dispute in the irrigation department.
The accused took Pradeep to Lalitpur and beat him.
Some locals rescued him. Later, the victim lodged an FIR against the accused.
However, Bundela managed to get stay orders in the case from the Allahabad High Court, but the HC cancelled it on April 6, 2005.
District and Sessions Judge Umesh Chandra sent the bailable warrant against Bundela yesterday through the UP Vidhan Sabha. The court has fixed November 28 for next hearing.
