Ambareesh to campaign for Siddaramaiah
Bangalore, Nov 14 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting M H Ambareesh today said he would launch extensive campaign for the success of Congress candidate Siddaramaiah in the December Four by election to Chamundeshwari Assembly seat.
Participating at a 'Meet-the-Press' organised by the Bangalore Press Club here, Mr Ambareesh expressed confidence in Mr Siddaramaiah winning the seat. ''Even if JD(S) and BJP put up a common candidate people would re-elect Mr Siddaramaiah as he is the best candidate in the fray,'' he calaimed.
Thanking party supremo Sonia Gandhi for making him Union Minister Mr Ambareesh vowed to discharge his duties honestly and work for the success of the party both at National and State level.
The actor turned politician, Mr Ambareesh assured that he would solve the problem being faced by the Kannada film industry in the first week of December. While appealing to Producers, Exhibitors and Film Industry workers not to precipitate the issue, he promised to n settle their issues by next month.
Replying to a question, Mr Ambareesh said that he is also in favour of according Classical Status to the Kannada language which has history of over 2000 years.
