Advani crashes out of World Snooker Championship

Bangalore, Nov 14 (UNI) Former world champion Pankaj Advani was ousted from the IBSF World Snooker Championship at Amman, Jordan, by Daniel Ward of England 5-3 in the pre-quarters.

However, National Champion Manan Chandra kept the Indian flag flying high by defeating Andrew Pagett of Wales 5-3 in the last 16 stage. Manan would meet Craig Steadman of England in the quarterfinals.

In the women's section, Anuja Thakur defeated Kathy Parashia 4-1 in the quarterfinals, according to reports received by the Karnataka State Billiards Association here today.

In the Masters category, Devendra Joshi and Geet Sethi registered victory over Panny Moermana and Mohammed Yousuf respectively to enter the semifinals.
