ABVP demands action against school teachers for illegal tuitions
Surat, Nov 14 (UNI) Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a protest march to the District Education office here and submitted a memorandum to the district education officer demanding stringent action against those school teachers, who are engaged in illegal tuitions in the city.
The activists said the recent raids conducted by the income-tax department in the city revealed that a large number of government teachers in the city are engaged in illegal tuitions.
''We want the DEO to take stringent action against such teachers, who are making lakhs of rupees from illegal tutions. We are also planning to conduct an independent survey to expose the teachers who are engaged in illegal tuitions in the city'', an ABVP activist said yesterday.
Meanwhile around 12 teachers who were caught in recent raids here have resigned from service, sources said.
