18 lakhs houses will be complete by March :CM

Hyderabad, Nov 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the construction of 18 lakh houses under INDIRAMMA Scheme for the poor people in the state would be completed by the end of March next year.

Speaking after inaugurating newly constructed houses under Rs 8.19 rpt 8.19 crore ''Rajiv Gruhakalpa'' for urban poor at Mailardevpally village in Rajendernagar Mandal of Ranga Reddy district this evening,he said his government was committed to provide houses for the poor people in the state.

He said the government had already constructed 12 lakh houses under the scheme in the last two years. It proposed to construct 18 lakh houses every year in the next three years.

He said the erstwhile Telugu Desam Party Government during its rule had failed to construct even one lakh houses for the poor people in the state.

He said there were 60 lakh families in the state without their own house.
