VHP opposes reservation to Muslims
Mumbai, Nov 13 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad today opposed the move to give reservation to Muslims in the name of 'Fair share' as advocated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
VHP joint general secretary Venkatesh Abdeo said the proposal to give reservation to Muslims was ''suicidal'', a release issued here stated.
He said the communal organisations could not divide the country despite all the efforts, but now political parties are commiting the same crime.
Mr Abdeo said the statement of Union Minority Welfare Minister A R Antulay that the time has come to include Dalit Muslims and Christians in the list of Schedule Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribes (ST) and Administrative Improvement Commission's Chairman Veerappa Moily's statement supporting the reservation for Muslims is ''anti-constitutional and attack on the reservation rights of SC and ST.''
