VHP demands security for Hindu prisoners
Ahmedabad, Nov 13: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad today alleged that Hindu prisoners faced threat from ''jehadi elements'' incarcerated in Gujarat jails and demanded adequate security for the former.
Referring to yesterday's attack on a Hindu prisoner, Kamlesh Rathod, by two fellow Muslim inmates, Ahmed Miyana (30) and Yusuf Momani (28), at the Sabarmati Central Jail here, VHP state General Secretary Jaideep Patel, in a statement here, alleged that lives of the Hindu prisoners are in danger.
The duo had attacked Kamlesh with sharp-edged weapons in the wee hours. He had to undergo a surgery at the civil hospital.
Mr Patel demanded a probe to ascertain how the weapons were sneaked into the prison.
