Two children killed; eight others injured in accident

Beed, Maharashtra, Nov 13 (UNI) A three-year-old child and a school girl were killed and eight others injured when a jeep in which they were travelling from Shirala village to Mirajgaon, 100 kms away from Beed, fell into a well after its steering wheel broke early today.

The accident occurred at about 0800 hrs, police said.

The jeep fell into a roadside well in which Sanjay Kurhate, 3 and Soni Kardule 7 drowned.

The remaining eight passengers including the driver of the jeep were injured and have been admitted to Ashti Rural Hospital, police said.

A case has been registered against the driver of the jeep and he has been arrested, police added.
