Three jawans held for beating passengers
Ujjain, MP, Nov 13 (UNI) Three jawans were arrested by the railway police for assaulting passengers and a ticket inspector in the Mysore-Jaipur Express, railway police sources said today.
Trouble began when some jawans, who were in the train's S-4 coach, started consuming alcohol after the train departed from Bhopal station last night and passengers complained to ticket inspector Ramakant Tiwari.
Mr Tiwari tried to dissuade the jawans but they caught hold of him and beat him up besides other passengers.
The ticket collector managed to escape from their clutches and informed the guard and other policemen. However, they too were thrashed by the jawans.
Following the incident, the RPF was informed at around 1000 hrs and the coach cordoned off as soon as the train reached here.
On being arrested, the jawans created a ruckus.
Jawans -- Sumer Singh (Jaipur), Jagdish Meena (Kota) and Dharamendra Rathore (Makrana) -- were arrested.
