Suggest SEZ's alternative to check unemployment: Hooda
Chandigarh, Nov 13 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today took exception to his opponents, who have been criticising setting up of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the state, saying either they should suggest an alternative to check unemployment or desist from misleading the people on the issue.
Mr Hooda said the project was in larger interest of the state and the country and would go a long way in checking the problem of unemployment.
The Chief Minister was interacting with leading members of the local self-governing bodies under ''Seedha Samvad'' programme.
He urged the elected representatives of the Panchayti Raj Institutions to ignore misinformation campaign of the opponents and work as a team and ensure judicious use of funds.
Mr Hooda said a unique project of drinking water supply known as 'Indira Gandhi Pay Jal Yojna' would be launched from village Nahauni in district Ambala on November 19 under which, besides giving free connection of drinking water to families belonging to Scheduled Castes, they would also be given a water storage tank of 200 litre capacity equipped with a tap free of cost.
He also announced the decision of the Government to set up a Haryana Rural Development Authority on the pattern of Haryana Urban Development Authority so as to provide amenities in rural areas at par with urban areas.
On the issue of remunerative prices being given to farmers for their produce, he said, it was not easy to give a quantum jump of Rs 100 per quintal in a year to the Minimum Support Price of wheat which has been done in the larger interest of the farming community.
