SC adjourns petition against Jayalalithaa till Jan 2007
New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) The Supreme Court today adjourned till January 2007 the hearing of a petition seeking separation of two criminal cases pending against former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and her associate Sasikala Natarajan and others.
A bench comprising Justices B N Agarwal and P P Naolekar adjourned the hearing after directing the party to complete the pleadings in the case.
Ms Jayalalithaa and her associates are facing joint trial in two cases pending in Bangalore for allegedly acquiring assets worth about Rs 60 crores by misusing their official position as public servents.
The petitioner K Anbazhagan has pleaded for separate trials of the two cases.
